Mangalore, Jul 27:              "Vanamahothsava" has been organized by  Mangalore City Corporation. Hon'ble M.L.A Sri. Yogesh Bhat, Mayor Sri. K. Ashraf and all standing committee chairmen's were present and planted the seedlings along  Ashok Nagar Road. About 1000 plants will be planted by July 2007. The programme was organized by Sri. Krishnappa Poojary, Commissioner, Mangalore City Corporation.

 

 

 

 

 


Mangalore, Jul 22: The project of four-lane converting and concreting of city's road between the Mahaveer (old Pumpwell) Circle and Hampankatta was launched on Saturday, July 22 evening by Rajya Sabha member B Janardhan Poojary.

Mangalore, Jun 22:        Hon'ble Prime Minister will arrive in the city to lay the foundation stone for ONGC

 Prime minister Manmohan Singh will arrive in the city on Friday June 23 morning to lay the foundation-stone for the prestigious ONGC Petro-chemicals project in the MRPL premises.  He will lay foundation for the ambitious project at 12 noon. Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy, union petroleum and natural gas minister Murali Deora, deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa and union minister Oscar Fernandes too will be present on the occasion. Chairman of administrative reforms commission M Veerappa Moily will also take part in the function.


Mangalore, May 30:   Hon'ble Chief Minister visited to rain affected areas of Mangalore on 30th May 2006

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy visited to the city and held a meeting with the officials at Deputy Commissioner's office.  Mayor Ashraf, MCC Commissioner Chandrappa too were present during the meeting.  The chief minister promised to find a permanent solution to the long pending problem of sea erosion in both Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.  He also ordered the officials to be on alert to the needs and queries of the public.

MLAs Yogish Bhat, Padmanabha Kottari, Abhayachandra Jain, Shakuntala Shetty, former MLA Jayaram Shetty, Deputy Commissioner Dr. H V Parshwanath, KPCC member U T Khader and others were also present at the meeting.

The Chief Minister then proceed to Malpe in Udupi distict to meet the fishing community which has been in total panic following raging waves and storm winds which have forced them to shun fishing activities.
